The Martian by Andy Weir

somewhat sad to leave Mars

Ryland and Mark are similar characters in the way they solve problems and approach engineering and science, so that was fun to read (for a bit). somewhere in the middle i got tired of the endless problems coming up Mark's way, and I was rushing to finish this book, but it ended beautifully and made me feel nostalgic bout leaving a planet no human has ever even been on. apart from the mid-way drag this book had another downside — 1D side characters. seriously the whole of nasa people's conversation was so inhumane and dry. he did improve on it (slightly) in hail mary.

yes that's it, i suppose. pretty awesome research, near accurate science, and somewhat of a thrilling story about survival on a freezing dessert planet. was fun!
